Hello all my fabulous friends! How's everyone doing? I've been busy with all kinds of SXSW 2023 things, which kicked off on Friday March 10th. If you've never been, it's my favorite Austin festival.
Tons of music from around the globe, tons of movies premiering, and tons of fabulous fashion. And guess what, I'm here to tell you guys what I'm seeing on those visitors to our great city.
Lots of Denim!
Denim is making a huge impact in fashion right now. Everything from tops to dresses to shoes and handbags, denim is the way to go. SO, let's dive in to some of my favorite ways to wear and style this classic staple.
First up, wearing denim with denim. I know, I can already hear some of you moaning about this but trust me, it's a thing.
For this classic, but elevated look, it's simple. Cropped jeans paired with a denim bustier. (similar linked)
The shade of the jean doesn't have to match but by doing so you create a clean silhouette.
To elevate this look, use your accesories to tell your style story. I wanted a classic spring look so I added a Floral Jacket (similar) and then played up the pink in the jacket with my bag, shoes, and sunnies.
Throwing a floral denim jacket over white denim is also a spring "DO"
Denim dresses, skirts, shoes and bags are also a great way to wear this trend without going all in.
Here are a few favorite bags in every price point.
Here is another way to pair denim with denim. I mean, if you're gonna do it, go ALL IN!
Add this Graphic Bag (linked siimilar frorm Vince Camuto) and you're a fabulous Denim Vixen!
And a few additional favorite dresses & skirts.
There are some great shoe options as well and here are some of my favorites.
I know alot of people think that denim is more of a casual vibe but it can also be dressed up.
This is a favorite Tulle Skirt that I've worn a gazillion times so I paired it with the Denim Bustier Top along with this Denim Wrap Belt.
Throw on some elevated accesories like this Dior Bag and Bow Heels and WA-LA, you've got a great date night outfit.
For this look I paired the top with a printed midi skirt (last season so I am linking a similar item here)
Going for a Casually Chic vibe here. The Rive Gauche Tote and Platform Wedges keep the look fresh.
Another major trend this summer is coming right back out of the 90's.
Cargo Pants are back in a big way! Lose and baggy or straight legged and tailored, they are a trend that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Here are a few favs that I've invested in.
These White Cargo Pants are a great way to embrace this trend without it feeling too young or "street."
Paired with a White Faux Leather Bustier, a Cropped Jacket, (similar) and matching accesories, this is a look that can go to brunch, date night, or girls night out.
As a long time soldier, one would think that I'd never want to wear camo print ever again but taking a great pair of Camo Cargos and elevating them is a fun way to revisit this print in a new, refreshing way.
By pairing them with these Ankle Strap Heels and a top with some sleeve drama, (linked sleeveless version for summer) you're taking it from street wear to glamazon!
Add a great bag and some Hollywood Fab shades and you're gonna turn some heads.
For a more loose fitting, casual way to wear cargos, opt for going up a size. When I'm wearing something loose and baggy on the bottom, I like to wear something more fitted on top.
Florals are always a great way to tamper down the "street" look of any baggy style pant.
This floral bustier is from a few seasons ago at White House Black Market, but I'm linking a similar style here.
And pairing these baggy cargos with Open Toed Heels keeps it chic and classic.
Or, embrace both trends and add a Denim Bustier Top with a Sherpa Cropped Jacket for texture.
If you want to elevate a pair of baggy black cargos, again, opt for something fitted on top but always remember to bring the luxe feel to your outfit.
This Bustier Top has major drama and belted with this Valentino Belt adds that luxe factor. The same strappy heels, the Dior Bag, and the Hollywood Sunnies adds the finishing touches that this look needs.
So, investing in a pair of cargo pants and a few denim pieces for the summer will keep your summer look fresh and chic.
Now, let's talk travel. Who's going some where fun this summer?
We're heaing to Mexico for our Anniversary in April and then on to Jazz Fest at the beginning of May.
What about you guys?
Happy Shopping!
Ciao
XOXO
